Environmental  game about the forest

I had the chance to participate in a national board game design contest. It was fascinating to create a game that would educate young children about ecology and the importance of maintaining the woods. Apart from developing my researched skills, the contest gave me an insight in manufacturing a new product, since I won and my game was manufactured.

NCE in collaboration with JSC "Latvia’s State Forests" invites to learn about a new exciting board game for schools "Audzēsim mežu!", Created by the Riga State Gymnasium No.1 students Maija Alice Sproģe and Elīza Zelda Zemzare. The game won 1st place in 2012, in the competition "Get to know the environment." The games objective is to create awareness of forest’s biodiversity and sustainablility. Playing the game, it is possible to learn interesting facts about Latvian forests, animals and plants, as it uses 120 different plant and animal descriptions with pictures. Game reveals the variety of problems affecting forests, such as forester fire and waste. In 1st of  March ,  an event at Riga State Gymnasium No.1 was held. There game was played by 20 teachers from Riga. The game will be used as an aid for students studying biology to make the classes more entertaining and interactive.

Tolerance.Integration.Education

I really enjoyed participating in Youth In Action project "Tolerance. Integration. Education" in Poland and in a project in Romania "Rights on Board - Destination Europe" where I had the chance to meet people from different countries work in groups with them and engage in debates. It provided a possibility to improve my language fluency in English, Spanish, German and developed my communication skills and confidence. Also from the participation in debates I have learnt to consider all points of view and support my own arguments, this ability has proven to be valuable when presenting my work.

Citizens

I was approached by an indie music band The Citizens to design their new album cover. I had to create a cover that would convey the bands urban and modern image, thus the city scenery with minimalistic but bright colors were used.

Advertising course

In Bournemouth University the advertising course is very hands on and practical. As part of our Fundamentals of advertising unit we had to create our own advertising agency and come up with ideas for advertisements. I designed an advertisement for Barry M nail polish that would encourage consumers to treat their nails with new, bright nail polishes.
